We passed our first committee!

We passed our first committee!

Good news our bill SB75 for transparency and deactivation protections has successfully passed out of its first committee. Thank you to all the drivers who made their voices heard at the capitol and at the hearing this last week. The bill will require rideshare companies to show passengers and drivers how much they are keeping for themselves, which is vital for us as drivers to make informed decisions. The bill will move to its next committee soon and we will once again be calling on drivers to testify and attend the meeting in order to show our legislatures we are serious about transparency.

Our other bill around transparency and safety for delivery drivers will be in its first committee soon as well. If you are a delivery driver we need your voice heard! Please send a pre-written letter to you elected official by clicking this link and let them know you are in support of our bills: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-your-state-senator-and-state-representative-support-transparency-for-gig-workers. If you would like to lobby or testify on either bill please reach out to our Political Coordinator Sandra at pmurray.cwa@gmail.com
